Jay G. Meunier, B.A., LL.B. was called to the Bar in 1995 and is a graduate of the Faculty of Law from the University of Moncton. Mr. Meunier's preferred areas of practice include family law, injury and death cases. Mr. Meunier handles all types of family law matters. His injury and death cases involve auto, truck and bike accidents, including slip and fall matters, dog bite cases, and disability insurance disputes. Mr. Meunier handles Discoveries, Trials, Hearings, Motions, Appeals, Applications and Mediations. Mr. Meunier has acted in the past as a facilitator for the pilot public information sessions on the Child Support Guidelines offered through the Ministry of Attorney General. He has been a member of the Supervised Access Advisory Committee since 2003. Mr. Meunier has been a panel agent with The Office of The Children's Lawyer, in the District of Cochrane, since March 2001. As a Children's Lawyer Personal Rights Panel Agent, he represents children in matters pertaining to custody access, child protection, adoption, consent and minor parent cases. He is a regular speaker in children and teenager programs locally, some of which include the Canadian Mental Health Association, Child and Family Services, and The Dare Program. Active in his community, Mr. Meunier dedicates a great deal of his time to various charitable organizations such as St. Martin Des Porres Community Charities Food Bank and Household Goods, and the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation. He volunteered for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario at the local and provincial level, for approximately 10 years. He continues to dedicate his time and promote local charity events in the community. Mr. Meunier is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and Treasurer of the Cochrane Law Association. He is also a member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board. He is fluent in English, French and Spanish and serves clients throughout the Province of Ontario. |
